SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY

Our employees are like family, and it is our top priority to make sure our employees return home safely to their families. Leroy Newton Construction regularly invests time and resources to make sure all personnel are properly trained and certified so we can complete each job accident-free.

We believe that each employee has the right to derive personal satisfaction from their job. As such, the prevention of occupational injury or illness will be always given top priority. The purpose of this policy is to develop a high standard of safety throughout all operations.

ACCIDENT PREVENTION & SAFETY RULES

It is our intention to initiate and maintain complete accident prevention and safety training programs. Everyone from top management to the field working person is responsible for the safety and health of those persons in their charge, themselves, and coworkers around them.

We have a formal written accident prevention program as described in WISHA regulations (WAC 296-155-110). Our company-wide Safety and Accident Prevention Program features:

  • Safety orientations conducted prior to beginning work on site
  • Proper training and authorization prior to equipment operation
  • Ongoing and pre-task planning for job hazard analysis
  • WISHA and OSHA code compliance
  • Drug testing program
  • Daily job site cleaning
  • Weekly safety meetings

LEROY NEWTON BASIC SAFETY RULES

All Leroy Newton Construction, LLC employees must adhere to the following basic safety rules during all phases of any given project:

  • No employee is required to work at-risk or around unsafe conditions.
  • Working safely is a condition of work.
  • Never do anything that is unsafe to get the job done. If a job is unsafe, report it to your supervisor or foreman immediately. We will find a safer way to do that job.
  • Do not remove or disable any safety device! Always keep guards in place on operating machinery.
  • Never operate a piece of equipment unless you have been trained and are authorized.
  • Use your personal protective equipment whenever it is required.
  • Obey all safety warning signs.
  • Working under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs or using them at work is STRICTLY prohibited.
  • Do not bring firearms or explosives onto company/project property.
  • Horseplay, running, and fighting are prohibited.
  • Clean up spills immediately. Replace all tools and supplies after use. Do not allow trash to accumulate where it can become a hazard. Good housekeeping helps prevent accidents.
